Programs and Projects

1. PARTICIPATORY GOVERNANCE - PAGEs' core program. It emphasizes on people's participation on local governance, as well as partnership between Local Government Units (LGUs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and PAGE. Currently, this is being implemented in selected municipalities in Palawan. Activities included are the following:
a. Orientation on People's Participation in Local Governance
b. Barangay Development Planning through Participatory Resource Appraisal (BDP-PRA
c. Comprehensive and Participatory Municipal Development Planning (CPMDP)
d. Pledging Session - Resource Mobilization of Local Government Units

2. TRAININGS AND RESEARCH - PAGE spouses the importance of trainings and research in its development work. The activities involve:
a. Documentation and Packaging of Municipal and Barangay Development Plans
b. Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation
c. Others

3. WATER, SANITATION and HEALTH - PAGE leads the promotion and implementation of the Solar Water Disinfection (SODIS) in the Philippines. The program also includes projects on the environment such as Water Resource Management (Water Systems) and on Solid Waste Management.

4. LIVELIHOOD - PAGE Multi - Purpose Cooperative operates a small congee house in Puerto Princesa City called "Lugawan ni Popoy" that serves as a training ground for business of the organization.





SOLAR WATER DISINFECTION, popularly known as SODIS, is a simple water treatment method that kills microbes and bacteria in water that causes amoebiasis, diarrhea, gastroenteritis and other water borne diseases through heat and ultraviolet rays from the sun. This project is being implemented in the provinces of Palawan, Bohol, Northern Samar and Marinduque as well as in thirty three (33) countries worldwide.
